“Good teachers know how to bring out the best in students.”

November 14, 2014    Volume 2 : Issue 8
Did you know that the State of MN will be requiring all juniors to take the ACT test on April 28th, 2015? It is pretty big news and one that we will hear much more about in the months to come.   It is a huge undertaking for our schools and the MN Dept. of Education.
Here are a few important things for you to know:

  • Even if a student has already taken the ACT test on a national testing day, they will have to take it again on April 28th.
  • The State of MN said that colleges will be willing to accept this test for admissions.  The ACT said it is up to each individual college.  That is a “maybe†scenario to me!
  • There is no cost to parents or students for the test.
  • There will be a make-up day in early May for students who miss the test.
  • Minnesota has led the nation in ACT scores for many years.  However, that will change significantly since all students will now be taking the exam.  It would not surprise me at all to see the MN average go from a 23 to a 19.

We do a great deal of ACT prep in both a tutoring and class format.  Once again, we will be ready to help students improve their ACT results as they take the test on the national testing days and on the state mandated date.

I am THANKFUL for the opportunity to have each and every one of you as my client.  Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Stuffing is my favorite food of the day. 🙂

Thanks so much,

All Star Achievement:

One of the students who took our PrepStar Premium class in August got a 36 on his ACT test!!  We are thrilled for him.  He is a very bright young man who worked hard on his own and in our class.
